		<description>In the U.S. convicted felons lose their right to vote. Which I&#039;ve never completely understood.  Like you said, Are they not now a citizen of this country? Even after they have paid their debt?

On the other hand, as one who has taught many an 18 and 19 year old, I&#039;ve always considered it a bit of a systemic flaw that those still in the ideological clutches of their parents should be allowed unfettered access to our polls.  Something about it just doesn&#039;t seem fair. Sometimes it&#039;s like dads and moms get two votes...</description>

		<description>I&#039;m shocked to hear of this limitation on Canadian citizens! I have American friends who live outside the country who follow our politics quite closely and always vote by absentee ballot -- I often find that they&#039;re more knowledgeable (and have better perspective) than Americans living in the U.S.A. If the Canadian government thinks that its citizens who live elsewhere don&#039;t follow politics closely enough to continue voting, that&#039;s awfully sad. :(</description>
